The Automotive Salesperson
 is the first person our customers meet in our Showroom.  Salespeople should possess at least a year of customer-facing experience, whether in an office, a showroom, a restaurant, or retail environment. They must have strong people skills, an energetic and enthusiastic approach to customer interaction, a positive attitude, and drive.  They should have good computer skills in order to use our customer follow-up tools, and you should know their way around the Internet with a strong grasp of email and texting. This is a great career opportunity for applicants with automotive experience, or any other customer service/telephone contact experience.   


Responsibilities include:

·        Understand each model’s features and capabilities, as well as comparing and contrasting competitive models

·        Develop good rapport with previous and new customers

·        Qualify buyers by understanding their interests and requirements; matching requirements and interests to various models, etc.

·        Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, attending seminars and reading professional publications

·        Perform presentations with new and previous customers and demonstrate features of suitable vehicles

·        Ensure that customers understand the vehicle’s operating technologies

·        Report to the sales manager regarding reviews, analyses, objectives, and planned activities

·        Participation in sales meetings and training provided by the dealership and manufacturers

·        Learn the contact management systems to contact potential sales leads, orphan owners and make follow up calls

Requirements :

·        A valid clean driver’s license

·        Strong people skills

·        Strong grasp of email and texting

·        Energetic and enthusiastic approach to the customer interaction

·        Must be excellent at communicating information

·        Professional dress code is required

·        Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background inquiry

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts vehicle test drives and ensures all speed limits all other rules of the road are followed
  • Ensures all sales targets are met or exceeded
  • Helps customer with vehicle selection and promotes model options and features, value-add products and services, and purchase and finance options following dealership policies
  • Helps facilitate delivery by providing a clear explanation of vehicle and features operation, warranty, and servicing requirements
  • Maintains accurate sales documentation
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles, accessories, financing options, and promotions
  • Negotiates sale closure in a clear, concise, and highly ethical fashion
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, co-workers, management, and others
  • Previous sales experience a plus (any industry)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must be a "people person" but still know how to control the deal
  • Must have a valid and clean NY state driver’s license
